
AYLİN SEZER
SOPRANO
Soprano Aylin Sezer is celebrated for her rich timbre and compelling stage presence. Her diverse operatic repertoire includes leading roles such as Tosca, Nedda, Micaëla, and Tatiana as well as newly written opera’s as Monique Krüs’ Piratenkoningin, Floris Bergeijk’s The Other and Bob Zimmerman’s Trijn. She has performed with opera companies such as Nederlandse Reisopera, Opera Zuid, Opera Spanga, and Opera Ballet Vlaanderen.
As a concert soloist, Aylin sang the Dutch premiere of Helstone’s The Pledge of the Gods with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra under Otto Tausk. She is a frequent guest at the NTR ZaterdagMatinée as well as Phion Orchestra, where she had the pleasure to sing Ravel’s Shéhérazade and Beethoven’s 9th Symphony under Marc Soustrot. Notably, she performed for the National 4 and 5 May Celebrations; these concerts, broadcast on national television, were held in the presence of Their Majesties the King and Queen.
Beyond the classical stage, Aylin embraces intercultural projects with companies such as World OperaLab, Amsterdam Andalusian Orchestra and Ramón Valle’s Boundless Forces merging opera with Turkish traditions and/or jazz. She also performs in a dedicated lied duo with conductor and pianist Ed Spanjaard.
Aylin is born and raised in Istanbul by a Turkish father and Dutch mother. She is a graduate of the Dutch National Opera Academy, Aylin’s honours include the HOTIAD Award for "Turkish Artist of the Year" and the Schaunard Award, recognizing her as the Most Impressive Dutch Opera Singer of 2017.
